The Jurassic Park is a movie tells about the life of ancient reptile living in the prehistoric period. Thanks to the film, Certainly our interest to visit the prehistoric museum will increase in order to cure the curiosity about ancient reptile that exist in the film. Due to the fact reptile ancient as dinosaurs are extinct thousands of years ago.

For those of you who would like to realize your fantasies about ancient reptile like in the Jurassic park movie we have good news for you. Apparently in this era are still found ancient reptiles like a dinosaur are found living in the wild. That ancient reptile named Komodo.

Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is a rare species that is almost extinct. This ancient Reptile you can only find in the Komodo National Park (Komodo Island), Indonesia.

Komodo is the largest lizard in the world that has a length of 2-3 meters and weigh up to 165 kg. In the wild, Komodo is not including an aggressive predator, the Komodo is including predators hunt their prey in the patient. They only took one bite to be able to paralyze its prey. and after dying dragons prey will eat it straight.

Komodo has characteristics such as scaly, sharp nails, forked tongue, and has a shape like a dinosaur in prehistoric period. But do not worry although Komodo looks creepy but harmless to humans.

Natural habitat  of Komodo is open grassland savanna, rainforest, white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and beaches where the water is crystal clear.

Did you know that Komodo live only in a particular island and will not be found in any part of the world except in that island. The island called Komodo Island which is located in the Nusa Tenggara Timur province of Indonesian. Due to the uniqueness and rarity, Komodo Island declared as a World Heritage Site and a Man ​​and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1986. Not only that, the island of Komodo has also been named as one of the new 7 wonder of nature by the New7Wonders organization in Zurich. New 7 Wonder of the nature of which are: Amazon (South America), Ha Long Bay (Vietnam), Iguazu Falls (Argentina / Brazil), Jeju Island (South Korea), Komodo (Indonesia), PP Underground River (Philippines) and Table Mountain (South Africa).
